President Obama Wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

with 2 comments

peaceprizeReally?

Why?

He didn’t end the wars in the Middle East like he said (perhaps because once taking office, those that were in the know said it wasn’t a good idea). Guantanamo Bay is still going strong and if it ever closes down, it’ll be moved elsewhere under a different name. And let’s face it, Afghanistan needs 40,000 more US troops, of which Obama is more than likely to supply.

Your thoughts?

  2. I voted for this so-called “liberal” progressive gonna change the world and make everything different mofo. Obama’s about as progressive as Bush. He’s cutting heating oil for poor people. He continued the tax cuts for the rich. Wall Street is still swimming in cash and basking in the glow of taxpayer bailouts.

The wars are stilling going on. Unemployment is not getting much better. And three years ago, Obama received a Nobel Prize…not for ending wars, but essentially for future diplomacy efforts, and for negotiating with the Russians over the missile treaty, which is nice, but his war policy is a shell game. Shift our military troops out of Iraq (and replace them with expensive mercenary forces) and move them to Afghanistan. Then accelerate the war in Afghanistan. WTF, are we stupid?? Afghanistan’s a huge, uncontrollable money pit which has bankrupted other countries (see USSR). Peace my arse. This country might indeed be f-d in the butt.

My background: I’m in southern Cali, a Marine Corps vet, I have over ten years of experience in academia and corporations and gov’t, I have four degrees from AA to Master’s, and so far no sight of a job. Been looking for seven months now. Have interviewed, changed up my resume, considered dumbing down my resume by removing the masters’ degrees…I feel as if we are heading toward a depression, not a recession. I feel pretty hopeless.
