Hypocrite In Chief
Unemployment numbers are growing.
People can’t find jobs.
People are losing their homes.
Bankruptcies and foreclosures are through the roof.
Naturally, the First Family is spending their summer getaway in Martha’s Vineyard at a 28.5 acre property called Blue Heron Farm. The New York Post reports that similar properties run about $50,000 a week and in this case, this amount will be billed to the taxpayers.
The property includes a small basketball court, golf tee, a pond, apple orchard, flower and vegetable gardens, stone walls, and a swimming pool. Furthermore, the rental agreement will allow the First Family use of nearby Squibnocket Beach. The First Family will have to sign three rental leases: one for themselves, one for the Secret Service, and one for White House staff.
What’s most amazing is that this is coming from the man that ran on a “for the people” platform and promised to reduce the National Debt (which he quadrupled). Couple this with the fact that Michelle Obama slides around in $500 shoes and carries $6,000 purses and you have a stunning case of hypocrisy. This is in addition to expensive White House dinners ($100 a pound Kobe beef anyone?), seven-figure redesigning of the White House, the most overseas trips of any President in their first 6 months, and an incredibly excessive and overinflated “stimulus” package.
What would be more impressive is if we had a President that spent taxpayers’ money wisely and lived a lifestyle that delineated that he was “one of the people” during these especially hard times for many families. He’s asking America to sacrifice so he should as well. It shouldn’t be “do as I say and not as I do.”
For the record, I wasn’t too crazy about Bush or McCain either.
