phoneGoogle recently announced Google Voice, a free program that will make waves in telecommunications. Basically you get a dedicated, free number that routes your calls to your work, home, or cell phone. You can call any number in the United States for free and get incredibly low rates for international calls.

The program also allows you to read a text version of your voicemails, check actual audio voicemails online or go the traditional route and check your voicemail from your phone. In addition, you can have free conference calls, record phone calls and store them online, switch phones during a phone call (cell, work, home), and utilize a plethora of call screening options.

Free is great when you can’t find a job! This is surely going to be a success for Google.
