I Can’t Find A Job

The Most Miserable City in America

detroit2The most miserable city in America is…(drumroll)…Detroit, Michigan! Forbes created what they called the “Misery Measure.” This score is calculated by taking into account a city’s unemployment rate, personal tax rates, commute times, weather, crime and the local environment. Detroit not only has the highest violent crime rate in the country but the second-highest unemployment rate in the country in addition to a plethora of toxic waste sites that are in dire need of a cleanup.

Other cities that made the list include New York City, named the fourth most miserable city with the longest commute time and highest tax rates. Los Angeles, despite its beautiful weather, clocked in at number seven.

The official Forbes Most Miserable Cities in America list is as follows:

1. Detroit, Michigan
2. Stockton, California
3. Flint, Michigan
4. New York, New York
5. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
6. Chicago, Illinois
7. Los Angeles, California
8. Modesto, California
9. Charlotte, North Carolina
10. Providence, Rhode Island

At least I’m not searching for a job in Detroit!
